Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Child Endangerment Investigation
Odessa Police charged Tawni Marie Gutierrez, date of birth 06/19/1994, on 2-1-18 with Endangering a Child “State Jail Felony”. On 1-10-18, the Odessa Police Department was notified by the Department of Family and Protective Services in reference to a newborn child that had tested positive for the presence of narcotics.
Investigation revealed that a Tawni Gutierrez gave birth to the child on 12-22-17 at Odessa Regional Medical center. Both the mother and newborn child tested positive for Amphetamines and Cannabinoids. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained a warrant for Gutierrez.
Odessa Police Charge Man in Connection to Sexual Assault/Burglary Investigation
Odessa Police charged Julian Gerald Rodriguez, date of birth 03/11/1991, on 2-1-18 with Aggravated Sexual Assault “1st Degree Felony” and Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit another Felony “1st Degree Felony”. On 12-14-18, a sexual assault report was made with the Odessa Police Department.
The 26-year-old complainant reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a known person, identified as Rodriguez. Investigation revealed that Rodriguez entered the complainant’s residence and went into the bathroom before grabbing the complainant. Rodriguez then restrained the complainant and began kissing her.
The complainant fought off Rodriguez but was restrained a second time by him pinning her arms behind her back. Rodriguez then locked the door and sexually assaulted the complainant. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for Rodriguez, who was charged accordingly.
Woman Arrested after Assaulting & Threatening to Kill Roommate
Odessa Police arrested Patricia Ann King, date of birth 07/25/1957, on 2-2-18 at approximately 2201 hours for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence) “2nd Degree Felony”. Officers responded to the 2100 block of East 9th Street in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 59-year-old male and his roommate, identified as King. Investigation revealed that after both subjects got into an argument, King threw a drink at her roommate’s face before throwing knives at the wall. King then grabbed a pair of scissors and threw them at her roommate, causing bodily injury on his chest.
There were no reports of any other injuries. King stated to her roommate that she was a trained assassin and that she was going to kill him. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, King was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
