Odessa Police Make Arrest in Connection to Shooting in the 1300 Block of North Eidson

DATE/TIME REPORTED: March 9, 2018 at approximately 1156 hours
LOCATION: 14th & Eidson
UPDATE:

Odessa Police have made one arrest and are still searching for additional suspects in connection to a shooting that occurred last Friday in the 1300 block of North Eidson. Jarius Martin Llanez, date of birth 02/08/01, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”.

Through the course of the investigation, two of the shooting suspects were positively identified as Larius Llanez and Robert Lujan, date of birth 06/26/1999. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for both subjects. Llanez was located and placed into custody.

Lujan is still wanted for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Anyone with information in reference to his whereabouts or anyone with information in reference to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Odessa Police Department or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS and reference Case #18-10711. The investigation continues.

ORIGINAL SUMMARY FROM 3-9-18:

On 3-9-18 at approximately 1156 hours, Odessa Police responded to the 1300 block of North Eidson in reference to a gunshot victim. Investigation revealed that two vehicles were traveling on Eidson when the occupants began shooting at two male subjects who were standing outside.

The two male subjects were identified as Nathan Stephens, 18 years of age and Desmond Tuggle, 19 years of age. Stephens was shot one time in the abdomen and was transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury. Tuggle sustained a minor injury on his left hand as a result of the incident. There were no reports of any other injuries.

Both suspect vehicles fled the scene before police arrived. Both vehicles are described as being a black Chevrolet truck and a black Pontiac Sunfire. At this time no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
