Odessa Police Make 4th Arrest in Connection to Shooting in the 1300 Block of Eidson

LOCATION: 14th & Eidson

Odessa Police have made four arrests in connection to a shooting that occurred last Friday in the 1300 block of North Eidson. Jarius Martin Llanez, date of birth 02/08/01, Tyler Blaine Scott, date of birth 01/09/2000, Ricardo Zuniga Reyna, date of birth 09/22/2000, and Robert Lujan, date of birth 06/26/1999, have all been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”. 

Llanez was taken into custody on 3-9-18 at approximately 2105 hours. Scott was taken into custody on 3-12-18 at approximately 1138 hours in the 2700 block of North Brazos. Reyna was taken into custody on 3-12-18 at approximately 1830 hours in the 1300 block of Lindberg. Lujan was taken into custody on 3-13-18 at approximately 2148 hours in the 2300 block of North Tom Green. 

Through the course of the investigation, all four suspects were positively identified through social media. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for all four subjects, who were charged and arrested accordingly. All four subjects are currently in custody at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

On 3-9-18 at approximately 1156 hours, Odessa Police responded to the 1300 block of North Eidson in reference to a gunshot victim. Investigation revealed that two vehicles were traveling on Eidson when the occupants began shooting at two male subjects who were standing outside. 

The two male subjects were identified as Nathan Stephens, 18 years of age and Desmond Tuggle, 19 years of age. Stephens was shot one time in the abdomen and was transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury. Tuggle sustained a minor injury on his left hand as a result of the incident. There were no reports of any other injuries.

Both suspect vehicles fled the scene before police arrived. Both vehicles are described as being a black Chevrolet truck and a black Pontiac Sunfire. At this time no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
