Odessa Police Make 2 Arrests in Connection to Sexual Assault Investigations
Odessa Police Arrest Man for 2 Counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
Odessa Police arrested Silvestre Young Perez, date of birth 12/03/1988, on 4-5-18 at approximately 0830 hours for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child “1st Degree Felony”. On 2-5-18, a sexual assault report was made with the Odessa Police Department. The complainant reported that a 5-year-old female and 7-year-old female had been sexually assaulted by a known person, identified as Perez.
A forensic interview was conducted on both victims and investigation revealed that Perez sexually assaulted both victims on different occasions. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained warrants for Perez, who was eventually charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Fugitive Wanted for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
Odessa Police arrested Daeshun Montray Bars, date of birth 08/20/1999, on 4-5-18 at approximately 1720 hours for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child (Warrant) “1st Degree Felony and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”. Officers observed a white Ford Mustang stopped in the middle of the roadway, in the 5000 block of East 42nd Street.
A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the front passenger was identified as Bars. Officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the listed vehicle and found Bars to be in possession of marijuana. Investigation revealed that Bars had a first degree felony warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Back on 8-23-17, a sexual assault report was made with the Odessa Police Department. Investigation revealed that a 13-year-old female had sexual intercourse with a known person, identified as Bars. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained a warrant for Bars, who was charged accordingly.
