The City of Odessa annual pavement restoration project is set to start Monday, May 14. Approximately 33 miles of streets will be treated with an oil based emulsion to extend the life of the street. A layer of sand will be added and then swept up the following day.
Affected residents will need to remove any vehicles parked on the street during the day of application and following the day of street sweeping. To avoid tracking the application products inside, pets and children should stay off treated surfaces.
Residents should receive a notification on their door the day before application, weather permitting. The contractor, Pavement Restoration, typically works between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with minimal disruption to residents.
Streets to be rejuvenated include:
- Streets south of University to Eighth Street
- Streets west of Dixie Boulevard to Andrews Highway/Grant Avenue
- Streets south of Second Street to Interstate 20
- Streets west of Grandview to Crane
Drivers are to obey all traffic signs and signals in construction areas.
