Woman Arrested after Spending Thousands of Dollars at Hotel with Fraudulent Credit Card
Odessa Police arrested Wendy Robin, date of birth 07/16/1974, on 8-7-18 at approximately 1351 hours for Theft of Service “State Jail Felony”. Officers responded to 5275 East 42nd Street (Holiday Inn) in reference to a fraud. Investigation that a female subject had been renting two hotel rooms with an invalid credit card.
Officers made contact with the female subject, identified as Robin. Investigation revealed that Robin owed the hotel approximately $6,217 in expenses from both rooms. Robin stated that she had been doing this at other hotels for approximately two months. Robin had no intention of paying for the rooms and was charged and arrested accordingly.
Man Arrested after Assaulting OPD Officer & Causing Disturbance at Local Restaurant
Odessa Police arrested Jonathan Taylor Jojola, date of birth 02/06/1989, on 8-8-18 at approximately 0215 hours for Assault on a Public Servant “3rd Degree Felony” and Public Intoxication “Class C Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to 2880 Kermit Highway (Pojo’s Restaurant) in reference to a fight.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject, identified as Jojola, who was a suspect in multiple assaults. Jojola was found to be intoxicated and was placed into custody for public intoxication. While officers were placing Jojola into the backseat of a patrol unit, he head-butted an OPD officer in the jaw.
The OPD officer sustained bodily injury as a result of the assault. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Jojola was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Man Arrested after Attempting to Stab Girlfriend & Bystander with Knife
Odessa Police arrested Joseph Dominic Mireles, date of birth 08/26/1984, on 8-7-18 at approximately 1225 hours for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence) “1st Degree Felony”, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon “2nd Degree Felony”, and Public Intoxication “Class C Misdemeanor”.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Bernice in reference to a disturbance involving a male subject attempting to stab a female subject. Investigation revealed that after a disturbance occurred between a 31-year-old female and her boyfriend, identified as Mireles, attempted to stab his girlfriend several times with a knife.
After a 43-year-old male subject witnessed the altercation and confronted Mireles, Mireles attempted to stab the 43-year-old witness. Mireles then fled the scene on foot before police arrived. An OPD officer located Mireles in the west alley of the 700 block of Dotsy. Mireles was found to be intoxicated on a substance other than alcohol.
Officers also found Mireles to be in possession of three knives. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Mireles was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. There were no reports of any injuries.
